Embrace the space & walk this way!

The Georgetown BID is expanding the sidewalks every weekend from April through December on the 3200 block of M Street (between Wisconsin Ave & 33rd St) for a better pedestrian experience.

From strollers to strolling, and walking to wheelchairs, we’ve given you more space so you can fully enjoy Georgetown’s. Say goodbye to dangerous jaywalking and parallel-parking induced congestion, and hello to a safer, more satisfying weekend in Georgetown.

The program begins at 6 a.m. on Saturdays and runs through 6 p.m. on Sundays, weather permitting. It's all part of our Georgetown 2028 Plan for the commercial district.

Coinciding with the sidewalk widening program, the BID sponsors free, northbound DC Circulator bus rides April-October. The Union Station-Georgetown route runs along Wisconsin Avenue NW from K Street stops in Georgetown to the top of Book Hill.

Nearby parking is also available in the Georgetown Park Garage (3250 M St NW), at the lot at 3280 M St, or via Bank St behind 3307 M St NW.
