BID STAFF BIO
Will Handsfield comes to the BID with transportation experience spanning from coast to coast. A former Californian, Will has worked on transportation projects in Los Angeles, Denver, and for the past six years, in Washington, DC. Will’s focus at the BID is to implement the transportation projects outlined in the Georgetown 2028 plan, and improve all aspects of transportation for Georgetown. When not working on transportation, Will has a passion for openwater swimming, which he would like to see return to the Potomac River and C&O Canal in the near future. Will earned his undergraduate degree at Loyola Marymount University in L.A., and his masters degree in public policy from the University of Denver. He has worked for Nelson Nygaard Consulting Associates as a project manager, as a senior policy advisor for the DC Council Committee on Transportation and the Environment, at DDOT as a project manager and analyst, as an organizer at Transportation for America, and served as president of BikeDenver. Will lives on Capitol Hill with his wife and two children.
